City tour capital Asunción

We offer you two opportunities to get to know the capital of Paraguay, one is a tour in a sightseeing bus lasting about 3 hours past the main attractions of the city. We will be happy to pick you up from your hotel and drive together to the starting point of the sightseeing bus, accompany you during the tour and then drive back to your hotel. Tour price with the sightseeing bus $49

The other option is more personal and aimed at small groups up to 7 people. We pick you up from your hotel and start our tour at the „Parque de Uruguay“ there we park our vehicle and visit the city on foot. Starting with the country’s oldest railway station „Ferrocaril Central“ and some old exhibits as well as an old steam locomotive, the tour continues to Asuncion Cathedral.

Passing numerous buildings built in colonial times, we look into the oldest pharmacy in the country with some old exhibits such as scales, glass containers and cutlery for the production of medicines from the Gründerzeit period.

The „Panton de Hereoes“ is the hero’s peace hall and is located directly opposite the traditional bar „Lido,“ which has existed for more than 65 years. If you want, you can try the popular fish soup „Sopa de Pescado,“ which has been offered since its foundation, or choose another from the rich menu of any food, which is not included in the tour price.

We continue to go further over the craft market, where you can find yourself at some stalls with specially negotiated „discounts,“ with traditionally embroidered garments made of cotton, tablecloths and serites or even artfully handmade Clothing items, subtains or wall decorations made of „nous andutí“ or with leather made or artfully painted souvenirs.

We continue on to the old Parliament building by visiting the Home and Immigration Museum. The old meeting room of Parliament is equally accessible and from the balcony of the second floor you can see the „favelas“ of Asunción.

Unfortunately, the presidential palace, which is located two blocks away, can only be visited from the outside, but a nice photo opportunity is the lettering of ASUNCIcomo N placed on the waterfront.

We then take a look at the old harbour with its customs building and old cranes and then take a boat trip on the Rio Paraguay to the „Chaco í,“ which offers you an impressive view of stone formations and a unique fauna and flora.

At the end of our tour we invite you to the oldest „Club Nautico“ in the country, whose access is only allowed members (we are members). The club is not necessarily worth seeing, but this place is very traditional and reserved only for exclusive clientele, and we also count our guests.

After that, we will take you back to your hotel and hope that you have enjoyed the day you have experienced.
